About IMP

Who we are

The IMP research group is a research group officially recognized, and financed, by the Generalitat de Catalunya since 2014. It is a multidisciplinary group, made up of researchers from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), with the col· collaboration of members of the Innovation and Research Laboratory of the Faculty of Informatics of Barcelona (inLab FIB).

The group includes researchers from four different departments of the UPC: Service Engineering and Information Systems (ESSI), Statistics and Operational Research (EIO), Computer Architecture (AC) and Automatic Systems Engineering and Industrial Informatics (ESAII).

A large part of the group’s activity is carried out in close collaboration with the inLab FIB, the innovation laboratory of the Barcelona School of Informatics, whose mission is to innovate and transfer knowledge to society in the field of ICT, through the development of human talent and the implementation of multidisciplinary R+D+I projects.

Our vision

Establishing itself as a reference in the fields of modeling and information processing. A reference both in excellence tied to the academic realm, with broad international recognition, and in the relevance of the work carried out, through the application of the results and knowledge obtained from the research to society and the industrial sector.
