Dra. Maria Ribera Sancho is a full professor at the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. She has been active in the field of Software Engineering for more than 25 years. Its main areas of research are conceptual modeling, information systems, software engineering, and science, management and service engineering (SSME). She is the author of several scientific articles and other publications presented in international conferences and journals and has participated in numerous projects with companies and other institutions.
From 2006 to 2010, she was a Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science of Barcelona and Deputy Deputy Chief of Studies of the same faculty between 1998 and 2004. She has also been a national ambassador to the European network of deans, DEAN Network (2006-2010 ) and president of the Conference of Directors and Deans of Computer Engineering, CODDI (2006-2010) of which she is now an honorary member.
Currently, she is a responsible lecturer in Services Engineering projects at inLab FIB, responsible for Academic Programs at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS) and Member of the Executive Committee of the Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence at the BSC. She is the Spanish representative at IFIP TC8 (Information Systems) and a member of the Barcelona Strategic Plan committee and the INES platform, as well as a member of FIBAlumni, ATI and SISTEDES.
