IT project management

Description

The reason behind this collaboration is to teach a course to employees of the IT department at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics. There are two main goals:

  • Know the software development lifecycle and the standards for documenting the system's requirements.
  • Apply the theoretical knowledge acquired previously to the specific case of the lab management software system at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics.

The course is structured in two clearly different parts and with a different teaching approach:

  • First part (12 hours). Description of the software development lifecycle, from inception to deployment and its later evolution, to ensure the successful outcome of the project. Be able to document and represent the different stages that make up this lifecycle using the UML language.
  • Second part (3 months). Application of the theoretical knowledge learnt in part 1 to the program used to manage the labs at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics. Realistically plan the management of the project considering the variables that play a part in its execution.
